Another rant about something maternity related ...

Aaron and I went shopping today to pick up some last minute items for my hospital bag. You know, the one that I'm supposed to be packing ... probably right now ... oops. The main thing that I needed was night clothes for the hospital, lanisoh, pacifers, and maternity bras.

We went to the "Bra Specialist" for the maternity bras. Yeah, we have to go to a specialty shop for these bazooma's because the regular maternity stores make me look like I'm going to enter myself in a teeny weeny bikini contest. Seriously, the only thing the regular store bras cover is PART of a nipple.

Maternity bras ... check.

Off to Target to see about some PJs and the other items on the list. Target's maternity line is lacking. Seriously. Every time I go, I never find ANYTHING. Reasons why I am STILL going have yet to be discovered. I'll just blame it on being too lazy to drive all the way to the mall this time.

I picked up some pants that'll work just fine ... and went around trying to find some tops. Nope. None. Nada. So, I'm stuck wearing the same last three cotton comfy shirts that my stomach still fits in for my PJ shirts while in the hospital. Aaron says that he can't WAIT until I can start wearing regular shirts again and he will never have to see these shirts (three exactly the same just a different color) again.

But dangit if they aren't comfortable ...

Oh, and one last thing. I can't STAND nicknames for pacifiers. I will ONLY be referring to my child's pacifier by its true name "pacifier." None of this, nuk nuk, or nunu, or nom nom, or paci, or whatever. Gag.

I guess this is enough procrastinating ... I mine as well go and pack my bag and get it over with ... who knows, maybe Liam WILL decide to come early. Doubtful, very doubtful ...

But just in case ... room ready!

I Hate You V.S.

This weekend was the weekend of all weekends for my friend A.D. She is graduating (finally) in December like I will graduate (finally) in May.

We got massages done and went to the cheesecake factory. We got some drinks and had a nice time at home after wards.

But in the middle of that, there was shopping.

We went to the Galleria, which I do not recommend on any day in December. I wanted to go to this new place to get new bras because they alter them for free and they size you correctly. I am astounded by my bra size, 34 H (U.K.) ... 34 K (U.S.). Yeah.

Anyway, I got two new bras that I absolutely love. They make me look so much thinner and make my boobs look AWESOME! So then we go to V.S. (Victoria Effing Secret)

Victoria Secret has been claiming that my boobs have been a size 38 DD for years now. Mainly so that I will some how find a bra that kind of fits me I'm assuming. They never fit correctly. I explain to them that they are too tight here, baggy there, etc. And they simply tell me that that is just the way it is. So, after getting "Holistically" sized at "Intimacy," I suddenly have a hatred for this place called V.S. because it's possible that their incorrect sizing has led to my boob problems to begin with.

But that's not all. They are a bunch of hypocrites.

Those "Angels" that model all of their outfits have huge fake boobs. And yet ... V.S. doesn't make sizes for people with big boobs. And then their workers walk around with an entitled look when you ask for something in an extra large before smirking and replying "No, we don't carry extra large. We only have extra small to large."

I don't need the "extra large" for anything else except to pour my boobs into. The dress/nightgown fit perfectly everywhere else except in the boobs. So how are you going to be a "boob store" that sells sexy lingerie that girls with perfectly skinny bodies and HUGE boobs model ... when in your stores you do not carry sizes that girls with perfectly not so skinny bodies and HUGE boobs can fit said boobs into?

Furthermore, if you have extra SMALL ... how are you going to discriminate the needs of the extra LARGE?

So, Screw you V.S.
Kiss my Huge 34 K'

I Will NOT Be Walked All Over!

As I've mentioned before ... I'm sick of older people thinking that just because of my age they can walk all over me. Or any one else my age for that matter.

I went to get gas today and found a great one! The gas everywhere else was 3.99 but this one was 3.85! I was like "Sweet Sweet!" Well of course there was a lot of people there so I pulled in behind an SUV that was getting gas behind another SUV. The one that was in front eventually pulled out and I was going to pull in to their spot but another SUV pulled in facing the SUV that I was behind.

No biggie right? Well, the SUV that I was behind finally pulled out so I went to pull into the spot behind her and start getting gas. Unfortunately, the older lady in the other SUV pulled ALL THE WAY UP into BOTH spots to get gas.

OK, well she wouldn't have done that if I were a man. She wouldn't have done that if I were an older woman like her. She would have somehow made it work so that both of us could get gas. But she didn't ... she was a bitch.

I got out of my car and was like "Maam, I need to get gas too!" She was like "Well, I've been here longer." I was like "Well, you need to move your car back a little ... there are TWO pumps and we both need to get gas." She was like "It won't REACH." So I was like "Well, then you either need to learn how to drive that huge gas guzzler of yours, or you need to get a smaller car so that you can fit into tight spots and not have to get gas as much." And then I got back in my car.

Well, as I get into my car, she starts running her mouth. I got BACK out of my car and said "WHAT did you say!? What did you say!?!?" Well, she just turned her back to me and so I was like "That's what I thought ... TURN around." And then I got back in my car.

The people that were on the opposite side of the pump finally pulled out and so I moved around and got gas on that side. The entire time that I was out of my car, she had nothing to say to me. It wasn't until she was leaving that she rolled down her window and yelled "You better hope your MOMMA doesn't know that you are out this late ... Wouldn't want you to go off and get PREGNANT." (It was 7:30 btw.)

I start SCREAMING after her car, "I DON'T NEED MY FUCKING MOMMA TELLING ME WHERE I CAN AND CAN'T GO YOU FUCKING COWARD. GET OUT OF YOUR CAR AND SAY SOMETHING TO ME."

But no ... she just drove away.

I was LIVID!

I think that my cheeks are STILL flushed and that was an hour ago!!!! But I'm just so freaking tired of people thinking that they can walk all over other people! SERIOUSLY. I don't think that! I'm courteous when I drive, I'm courteous when I'm in stores. I'm always courteous! I don't see why people just think that they can be selfish and rude and a bitch. I'm tired of all that crap! I'm not taking it anymore!! I AM NOT A DOOR MAT!

In other news:

My grandpa is having an arterial-gram tomorrow, so please pray that he won't need surgery.

Crappy Service

Well, I'm back from Nederland! The wedding that I went to was great! I wish that Aaron would have been able to make it because weddings are always so romantic! I love dancing at weddings! But it's cool, the next wedding that we are going to Aaron WILL be able to go! FOR SURE!!!

Funny story: I was going to be going to the rehearsal dinner for the wedding because I was a reader. So, I was going to be bringing two dresses with me right. Come to find out ... I didn't bring ANY! Yeah, I completely just packed my bags, pulled my dresses out of the closet and then didn't bring them downstairs to the car. IDIOT, right?! So, I ended up having to borrow clothes from two people. It worked out pretty good ... but still!

So, before I left today, I went to go and eat with my friend Amanda. We originally were going to be going to Tokeyo to eat. Which is basically the best place to get sushi EVER! It's freaking awesome. I haven't found a better place in Houston. But, apparently neither of them were open. Something about plumbing issues? So we ended up going to Olive Garden.

I think that I'm about done with that place. Seriously. Earlier in the week, Paula and I went to eat at the Olive Garden up here. It took 20 minutes before someone came to our table and then basically everything about the meal was wrong. So, I tipped the girl a dollar. Now, I'm normally one to tip a lot more because I've been a waitress and I know how difficult it can be, but I'm starting to get freaking sick of it. Well, today was worse. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to our table and it wasn't even our waitress. It was another girl who was going to take our drink orders. She brings back the drinks and I'm like "Well, when is OUR waitress going to be here, because we are pretty freaking hungry." The girl was like "Oh, she's on the way." If on the way is 10 minutes later ... then okay. So, she takes our order (I ordered Spaghetti with meat sauce on whole wheat pasta) and then I tell her that I'd like the salad dressing on the side because I don't like the Italian dressing. When she finally gets around to bringing us the salad ... she's like "oh, they put the dressing on your salad." I'm pretty sure that the waitress should be the one to make the salad, so she was either making excuses, or she's too "in the weeds" to even make our salads. We had to ask every time that we needed something to drink, one time I noticed that there was a water pitcher by our table, so I ended up getting up and getting it myself. When we FINALLY got our food, another person brought it to us and my pasta was NOT whole wheat. So, that guy was like "Oh, sorry, she messed up." I was like "Well, she's messed up a lot." So he was like, "Ohh ... I'll get the manager." So the manager comes and takes back my plate and brings back the whole wheat pasta. Etc. etc. etc.

I was pissed! The lady barely came over to us ... she never would check to see if we needed anything else. We weren't asked if we wanted more Salad. Nothing. So it finally got down to bill time ... and I had had ENOUGH.

I didn't leave a tip.
And I left reasons why.
This is what I put on the back of the receipt.

"Dear Waitress,

The reason that you are not receiving a tip is because I'm not sure who it give it to:
1) The girl that brought us the drinks
2) The guy that brought us the food
3) Or the manager that had to fix all of the mistakes that you made.

Next time, try to be more ATTENTIVE!

Amanda couldn't believe that I'd done that. But seriously!!! I'm so freaking sick of that crap. First of all, I hate when Aaron and I don't get waited on very well because we are seated next to an older couple and so the waiters seem to fawn over them the entire time. HELLO, we are probably going to tip you way better than they are because we understand where you come from!!

So, if you are a waiter ... pay attention to EVERYONE. Who knows what might come out of it.

A perfect size What??

Remember these Sweet Valley books from our youth? I can remember the library having every single one of them and me being able to read them all in succession. I think that I might have enjoyed the college years better ... but whatever.

Anyway, these were first published in 1983 and are now being re-vamped.

Notice anything different about the covers?

Instead of newspapers, there will now be cellphones and blogs.

And those skinny little twins have gone on a diet. From an original "perfect size 6" to a now "perfect size 4."

Maybe this is just vanity sizes and they actually still mean a perfect size 6. Granted, I haven't ever found a vanity pair of jeans ... maybe that's because I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on them. Who knows. All I do know is that I still go in and come out just as disappointed.

Some people are saying that actually a perfect size 6 from way back then would probably be more of a 1-2 by now. So does this mean that the twins have gained weight? No way. Not these perfect specimens of blonde goddess beauty.

Are they going to remake these again in another 20-30 years or so? I guess then they will have to re-invent the twins again. "Perfect size -2 anyone?"

Shhh

I know that I'm guilty of this as well ... therefore, as a new years resolution in May, I'm going to try to stop.

Stop what? Stop the Gossip!

I think that as a twenty-three, nearly twenty-four year old, I think that it's time to move on from the petty gossip.

It's starting to be a big turn off when I get together with a group of people and all that they (we) can do is talk about other people.

It's not even worth it. It's not very Christian like, and so I've decided to try not to do it anymore.

It's going to be hard, it's going to be really hard in fact, but hopefully it can be something that I can mature with and grow out of.

What about everyone else? Want to jump on the bandwagon with me?

What ever happened to reading books?

Today I was talking to one of my fellow classmates that is going through methods. I asked her about her experience in a Conroe ISD setting because if things go as planned, then I will also be working in the Conroe ISD for my methods.

She told me that the teacher that she has a great teacher but that she doesn't agree with a lot of the things that she is doing.

She teaches JUNIORS. Their research paper is as follows:

Write a research paper over Romanticism. They watched "The Last of the Mohicans" which was actually WRITTEN by James Fenimore Cooper who is a Romantic writer. Now, they have to write a 5 paragraph paper over Romanticism by using one of the following MOVIES: Harry Potter (not romanticism), LotR (not romanticism), The Last of the Mohicans, The Patriot, & The Princess Bride.

JUNIORS!!!!!

Also, she has laid it all out for them. She has written what they should say on their first line ... then where they should go from there. WHAT THE F***!

Those poor kids are going to have the biggest wake up call of their LIVES when they get into college. That teacher should be brought out and shot. A freaking ENGLISH TEACHER and she would rather her students watch a movie instead of read a novel.

Seriously, what happened to reading books?

I don't live on a farm!

I was watching Big Brother the other night and one of the guys was from Texas. Actually, he was from Port Neches; which is the town right next to the town that I grew up in.

So WHY did they show a cow mooing before they showed his house?

It annoys me to no end when people think that Texans ride horses every where they go and live on farms/ranches.

We Don't!!
And it's kind of ignorant of you to think that we do. I also hate when they have movies about Texas and every one has that annoying "southern accent." Yeah, There are some people that have that accent but a lot of us don't! I don't, Aaron doesn't, none of my friends do, none of his friends do.

When I went to California and would say where I was from I always got the "What?! You don't sound like you are from Texas." Good! I think that it makes you sound stupid when you over work your jaw. Do you think that it's cute? It's not! No wonder people think that we have tumbleweeds rolling across our dry lands ... I would think the same thing if when I tried to talk to people they spoke so hick.

Anyway ... that's my rant of the weekend!

Wow ... You are a dick!

Sunday afternoon Aaron and I went over to his "friend's" house. I was hoping that Aaron would find some nice guys to hang out with and then I'd be able to make friends with their girlfriends/wives etc.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how good this plan is going to go since I can't STAND one of his friends.

He is the biggest asshole I think anyone could ever meet. It really sucks because he does have a lot of the same interests as Aaron and I do ... but I just can't get over how much of a dick he is.

Basically, this guy moved down here from somewhere up North with his girlfriend of six years. He moved here because of his job ... she didn't have one at first. Although, she's right to finally get a job since he apparently can't get over that issue. He has this whole "shtick" that goes something like "raise your hand if you have a job ... if you don't, then you don't get a say in the matter."

He said this quite a few times while I was there. Along with, "Man, I can't believe that you are married Aaron, that's probably the stupidest thing you could have done. Now you will NEVER have money ..." blah blah blah. Another of his favorite phrases is "Who's paycheck is completely spent?!"

So finally I called him out on it:

Me: "How is your paycheck spent already?"
Asshole: "Well, it's like this, When you have a person that lives with you but doesn't WORK then you have to pay for EVERYTHING."
Me: "Oh no, You can't use that excuse because first of all, your girlfriend DOES work, and second of all, I DON'T and Aaron has plenty of money left over at the end of the month."
Asshole: "Well I have a house payment"
Me: "Not my fault you bought a house"
Asshole: "Two car payments"
Me: "It's not my fault that you decided to buy two new cars if you don't have enough money to pay for it.
Asshole: "Credit Card bills ... THAT beautiful new television"
Me: Nope, can't use that ... we've already paid off our credit card bills and our brand new television"
Asshole: (starting to get uncomfortable) "Come on Doug .. Aaron ... back me up"
Other guys: Oh no way ... this is NOT something that I'm going to get into. You've really crossed the line dude.

Eventually, once he realized that I wasn't going to back down he finally started being nice. But I don't really think that I am going to be too excited about hanging out with him anytime soon. No freaking way!

In other news: For some reason I can't sign up for my math class ... Does SHSU hate me!?

Kill Me Now

As the semester rears its ugly head to a close, I once again wish myself a quick death. I know ... I know ... "But Rachel, you only have a little bit left!" Which is true, but it does not make things easier.

There should be a pill that I can take that will make me WANT to do the things that I need to do for school. Instead, I sit online looking at other people's blogs and checking my myspace every two minutes.

I'm on serious burn-out mode, and it just got worse. I found out that I will now have to take both summers again. Two in Summer 1 and One in Summer two (or vice versa ... depending on how I feel). I was so looking forward to being able to take that little break during Summer 2 ... go on vacation with Aaron ... spend time with family and friends ... etc. But now, I will be once again be spending every single day driving back and forth to Huntsville.

If my university was just up the road it would not be a problem! I might even be happy to go because it's not like I don't like all of the classes that I am in or am going to be taking. I think that this is why I'm glad that Methods is coming up so soon. If things go as planned (which they usually don't but I feel that I need to keep an open mind) then I will be taking my Methods in Willis which is only 20 minutes away. I will also only being going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays again (the most ideal school schedule imaginable) which will leave me open for much needed rest and substitution. It's just getting to August 08 that is going to be the long haul.

Who knows, maybe summer school won't be so bad since I will barely have enough time to get tired of it. We can only hope ... and pray ... and possible sacrifice a virgin so that I may keep my sanity.

"Everything Madonna Touches Turns to Whore"

The quote of my title is by the magnificent Aaron Allen, btw!

Yeah, and he's right. Britney Spears started on her slow descent into the skanky, head shaved, whatever that she is now ... after that disgusting lip lock with Madonna.

I think that it was at that time that Madonna planted a device into Britney Spears that immediately made her start making horrible decisions and life altering mistakes.

Yeah, okay ... so she married her high school sweet heart ... BUT THEN SHE MARRIED HER BACK UP DANCER.

Yeah, okay ... so she had a kid ... BUT THEN SHE HAD TWO!

Yeah, okay ... so she went out and partied a lot ... BUT THEN SHE WENT WITH OUT PANTIES

Yeah, okay ... so then she got a divorce ... BUT THEN SHE SHAVED HER HEAD.

Yeah, Okay ... so she went to Rehab ... BUT THEN SHE DID A WHOLE BUNCH MORE DRUGS AND LOST HER KIDS!

I mean it's obvious ... Madonna has planted her seed of disgust into Britney Spears and that sucks, because I really like B. Spears and I wish that she would get out of this funk and get back on the right track ... but it seems to be a contagious disease ...

Now Jamie Lynn is pregnant as well ... and at only 16.

Why can't the people that actually want to get pregnant get pregnant? Oh and why can't rich celebrities opt for freaking birth control!? Jeez ... they have enough money!

Go to Rehab Amy ... seriously.

Okay, before I get into this ... I would like to know who in the hell this Amy Winehouse person is to begin with? Besides seeing her at some random awards show, singing in her horrible voice, her stupid Rehab song, I've never heard of this girl!

Where did she come from? Who cares about her? Why is she important to society? Oh wait ... no one cares and she's not!

But ... because I needed something to take my time away from the paper that I'm trying to write ... you know, clear the head a bit ... I thought I'd go ahead and rant about this stupid stupid stupid girl.

First off, Wow aren't you subtle? And by you ... I mean her. Your first single is a song about Rehab? Then there are reports that your concerts suck a big one because you are so freaking intoxicated that you can't even sing correctly/remember all of the words to your songs?

And then THIS appears on the web! SERIOUSLY!? Right there on stage huh? REALLY?

Re-donk-ulous. (As Marshall would say)

I'm sorry but I wish that Famous people would read this damn thing ... and realize that they are so effing retarded. Grow up!

How can you actually want to be a performer and make money when you are trashed on stage at your concerts? All that does is make people talk about you ... and NOT in the good way. Get a life Amy Winehouse ... or at least die from an overdose of booze and cocaine ... soon please ... you are ruining good music for me.

Degree plans. Or: Why do University's suck?

My University implemented this new registration thing this semester, and it effing blows.

Before, they would open up registration at like 1am in the morning so the people that REALLY cared about their schedules would just have to wait up or wake up at that time so that they could register.

This year, (the year that I seriously need every thing to be perfect) they changed it. Now, we had some kind of stupid alphabetical registration by classes. They aren't counting the classes that we are in this semester so I was still considered a Junior. THEN, I didn't get to register until 9:30 Wednesday night ... because of my last name "p".

Therefore, the Spanish class that I need to take was all filled up ... and the Teaching Literature in Secondary Schools class that I HAVE to take was all filled up.

No big deal with the Spanish because there are other classes that I can take if I have too ... but also my Spanish teacher says that he is going to try his hardest to get me into his class.

But the English class ... apparently about 15 other people ALSO need to get into the class. So he is making us email him our reasons for wanting to get in the class and he will chose today and then open the class up for the students that he chooses.

My reasons are pretty good.

I need this class so that I can take methods in the Fall and then Student teach in the Spring and graduate. If I don't have this class then it will set me back from graduating by ONE CLASS! They usually don't want you to take any other classes with your methods block because it's very hard and we also have to have 70 hours of observation at different high schools that semester. But I am going to have to take a course that that time any way because it's not offered in the Spring. Which means that if I don't get into this class then I can't graduate when I need too and then I'm fucked!

I also told him that I felt that I was qualified for the class and listed all of the classes that I have taken prior to his course. Finally I asked that he please consider me for his class so that I can continue my degree plan and become a teacher by May 2009.

I should find out some time this weekend I think ... but OMG ... I'm freaking out! Not only is this going to set ME back ... but it sets our house buying back. Our baby making back. My grandpa back another semester. EVERYTHING.

-Sigh-

Antipathy for Forwarded Emails

I don't know about any one else ... but when the little gmail notifier thing on my task bar lights up with a new email I get crazy excited! I press the little red envelope on my tool bar and get to reading my little treasure.

But first ... I have to scroll through 18 pages of OTHER people's email addresses.
Only to get to an email that I've already gotten from some one else, or that I've seen before, or that I don't care to see at all.

Don't get the wrong idea, I still love getting emails ... but I like them to be a bit more personal. Don't just hit the forward button and press send. Send me a little note along with it ... at LEAST delete the other addresses from all of the people that it's been sent to before.

Also, the KINDS of emails. Like the chains where they are going to kill my first born child if I don't send this email to 180348103 people from my email account.

Or all the prayer/God emails. I am a religious person. I DO believe in God. I DO pray. I DO thank God for everything that he has blessed me with in my life. So, I can't stand it when I get an email saying something like "You can send jokes to all of the people in your email list but you can't send this prayer to 10 of the people that mean the most to you"

Noooo ... I COULD but I don't think that it's going to mean that I am a better closer or that I'm closer to God because of it.

If I think that it's a really good email ... then I will send it along ... but I will also delete everyone else's names from the list before me. It's just common courtesy. Common Decency even. I don't want to know your business, who emails you on a day to day basis ... I don't care! So don't subject me to it!

Also. As I've mentioned before, EFFING RESEARCH THE EMAILS THAT YOU SEND OUT. There are a lot of people in this world that apparently get their rocks off by coming up with lying emails to send to their gullible friends.

You can't fool me!

I seriously doubt that your child died from a broken off hypodermic needle that he came into contact with in a ball pit at the nearest chuck-e-cheese.

No way! I can put my pin number in BACKWARDS and it will call the police for me at any ATM? Gosh, I guess it's a good thing my pin number isn't the same four numbers in a row right?

Bill Gates has a tracker on this email and is going to send me 1024820 dollars each time that I send it out.

I guess I can go on and on and on with this ... but anyway. Just research things before you send them to me please! Or before you send them out to anyone ... other wise you look silly.

So what did we learn?

Send me an email! I love them!! Just research them first, delete the other email addresses of those that sent it to you before you sent it me, and finally ... don't feel bad if you don't "get something back" it doesn't mean that I don't love you. It doesn't mean that I'm not praying for you. It just means that I don't see how sending something electronically to some one else is really going to matter.

Why "Oldies" should get their license taken away.

What!? Rachel actually has a post worth mentioning? Wow!

So, the other day ... I was trying to park my vehicle at Sam Houston. Unfortunately, the parking at Sam is horrendous. Seriously ... I live 47 miles away from the school ... but I have to leave my house an hour and a half before my class just to insure my ability to find a decent parking spot.

So, I was driving around the parking lot for a spot and there was this old dinosaur lady in a huge boat of a vehicle that was trying to park as well. Except that she wouldn't turn onto a turn unless no one else was on that strip ... and she was in the middle of the lane so no one was able to turn down the street that she was on. But instead of trying to move over a little bit ... she was just trying to wave people by. HELLO WOMAN ... NO ONE CAN GET BY BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID BOAT OF A VEHICLE.

Whatever, I moved down to the next lane and went down that and ended up finding a good spot.

But the plot thickens.

Last week, while I was leaving school to go back home ... I went to pull out of the parking lot and low and behold who is trying to pull INTO the parking lot? THE DINOSAUR! I was on respected side of the road, with plenty of room for someone to pull into the parking lot ... however, she refused to move and continued trying to wave me by here. HELLO!!! THERE ARE CARS COMING ... I CAN'T JUST MOVE MY CAR INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC!!!!

So, she refuses to go ... I can't go ... then a line of cars starts piling up behind her ... and I can't see who is coming in the other line towards me ... I pull out slightly after I realize that she's not moving ... and the cars on the other side of the street had a light. But a woman in a van almost hit me ... I couldn't see her as I was pulling out because of the Dinosaur's big boat of a vehicle.

AND WHAT HAPPPENS?!??! The lady in the van gives me this huge "stupid college kids can't drive" look ... and I seriously wanted to put my car in park and get out and slam my hand down on the stupid dinosaurs car.

Next time I see her, I'm getting her license plate and calling the police. If she can't drive correctly ... she shouldn't be on the road. That could have very well caused me to get into a bad wreck ...

Uninsured

Because of Aaron taking too long to call about getting me on his health insurance ... I can't get put on it until the beginning of next year.

He had to have called within thirty days. And I already used my married name during a doctor's visit ... so I'm hoping that my insurance won't catch that (fat chance) and end up not paying for my gyno visit. Also ... now I can't go and get a second opinion about my periods ... until the beginning of the year. I guess this could be good and bad because I can give the birth control a chance to see if it is going to work.

Speaking of periods. BLEH, I'm on mine now. It doesn't seem as bad as it was last time ... meaning that I can keep food down ... but I still am not feeling well, and I haven't been feeling well probably since Thursday. I am going to be taking this "femcon" thing or something like that ... but maybe I should ask about "Yaz" because that's the stuff that is for that really bad PMS stuff??? Who knows ;-/ Bleh bleh bleh!!

The freaking sky dropped on top of us this afternoon while we were in Target and by the time we got home we had to wade through water that was up to my thighs! I quickly grabbed Emily from where she was hiding behind the neighbors chairs so that she could come in the house and stay warm and get some food. But she wanted to go back out once it stopped raining a bit.

And of course ... as if I couldn't hate our apartment any more ... the ceiling is now leaking water. Awesome. Although, I guess that it's better than the people that live on the bottom floor ... because I have a feeling that they were flooded. Sucks.

Eff the Towing companies: Or, why does our life suck???

Okay, so check out how sucky our weekend (my birthday weekend mind you) has been.

Aaron needed to go to the store to get a few things for the party that we were having on Friday around 5:40ish, after he had woken up a bit and did some things around the house. He comes back about three minutes later saying that he thinks that his car was stolen.

I go down there with him and we drive around the apartment complex twice trying to find the car. Nope. So, by this time it's RIGHT at 6 o clock, so we rush to the front of the complex just in time to stop the girls in the office and tell them that we think that his car was stolen. Jackie (the assistant Manager) was like "Actually ... I think that it got towed." I immediately said "Why?" and she said "I'm not sure ... probably that you were parked in a handicap parking spot.

Let me stop right here and say that Aaron NEVER parks in a handicap parking spot. In fact, he usually parks really far away ... and parks on the street before parking in the handicap parking spot in our complex.

Back to Jackie: She says "I think that they take pictures ... I can give you the number to the towing company to talk with them and if they do not help you out ... Kristen will be back in the front office tomorrow at 10. So they leave ... without going back in just to get the towing slip so that we can know what the heck happened and why they would tow our car. So, we get back to the apartment and Aaron calls the towing company. They say that the pictures are in the night drop box. So, we drive all the way down to the towing company thinking that the pictures are in the drop box. Well ... they were in the APARTMENT COMPLEX's drop box ... not at the towing company. Plus, Aaron couldn't get his car out anyway because the car is in his mom's name (who lives 2 1/2 hours away mind you) so she would have to drive all the way up here to get the car out.

We drive back to the apartment because it was time for people to start arriving and figure that we'll just have to go down to the office and see what they say in the morning. Also, we wanted to look at the pictures and see what in the hell actually happened.

Aaron had to go to work that night (so of course he had to use my car) and he got back at 7 and went to sleep. I went down to the front office at 10 am and sat in the front and waited for ten minutes because the girl was late. She gets there and is like "Sorry, I'm like 10 minutes late". Very politely I say "No big deal ..." So she's like "What can I help you with?" I tell her the story and ask to see the pictures ... she gets it for me and sure enough .... Aaron is parked NEXT to the handicap.

Here's the back story: When we first moved here the handicap spot was the second spot away from the sidewalk. So, the maintenance people painted over the spot with gray paint and then placed a pole with a handicap sign in front of the parking spot NEXT to that spot. Since then (Which was a good seven or so months ago) people have been parking there because it's no longer a handicap spot.

I show the girl the picture and I'm like ... "See, this isn't in the handicap spot at all ... it's obviously been painted over!" She's like "well, I don't know ... I haven't been here very long." I was like, "Well yeah but we've been here for a long time ... I remember when they painted over this spot and moved the handicap spot to the next spot over." She was like "Well I can't do anything about it ... you'll have to call the towing company." So, I call the company and tell them that we've seen the picture and that we weren't parked in the wrong and that they towed our car illegally and we would like it back. They tell me that can can't get the car back until the manager gets in because they have no authority to release a car without us paying for it.

The front office still wouldn't do anything ... by this time I was freaking mad, so I yelled on the way out "THANKS SO MUCH FOR NOT HELPING US AT ALL!" Aaron's mom was on the phone with me and said that she was going to be on her way out there so that she could see what she could do since she was the owner of the car. I get back in the apartment and start telling the people that stayed the night after our party what happened. I'm basically LIVID ... Aaron wakes up and realizes that they aren't going to give him his car back. He gets so angry and can't go back to sleep. He tried to go down and talk with the lady but she basically said the same thing. She wondered why it took us so long to find out that our car was towed (Um I don't know ... because he works NIGHTS and sleeps during the day), and refused to call in the manager so that we could speak with someone that obviously knew more than this girl.

Aaron's mom gets there and calls the towing company, who says that they are going to try and get a hold of the manager but they doubt that it will matter because he usually doesn't answer the phone on the weekends because he's off of work. Then we called the police to see if we could file a report because our car was illegally towed and if you ask ME ... that's pretty much stealing!!!

The police man arrives very quickly but tells us that he can not do anything because we live in a gated community and the towing company has a contract with our complex ... therefore this is a civil matter and the police can not help us. He was very nice though and said that if they wouldn't give our money back to let him know and he would be sure to report them.

We went BACK down to the complex with a contract that basically said that we were going to pay the fee but that they promised to pay us back after we spoke with the manager and he realized that the towing company is in the wrong. (This is something that my BIL, a lawyer, said to try and get so that we can have documentation of what we paid) Well, of course they refused to sign anything. We sat there for the longest time trying to decide what to do and finally decided to pay it and Shaw said that we would just have to sue them if they didn't give us the money back.

Well, Aaron gets his car and pulls it into the front of the parking lot and we start smelling some serious gas. We look and OF COURSE ... there's a freaking gas leak. The fuel line has a hole in it and that was DEFINITELY not there before it was towed. So we go back to the front office and she tells us that there's nothing that she can do about it.

We called the police to file a report .... after waiting two hours .... the cop gets there and says that because it probably was not intentional we can't do anything. But she also says that we have a good case (After seeing the pictures) and that we definitely needed to get our money back as soon as we could ... apparently they do this all the time and a lot of people just pay the money and forget about it. She said that we needed to go to small claims court to take care of it if they didn't settle it.

Then we had to wait for anothe tow truck (from our insurance) to come and take the car to a chevy dealership out here. When they get there ... we get the guy to look at the fuel line and he said that it looks like it was done because of carelessness from the towing company. We have his information for him to testify if we need it. So they tow it off and finally we are able to go home and hang out with the guests of our party.

It was four hours of stress ... just sitting in the freaking towing company parking lot .... in a NOT very good part of town.

P.S. That picture is of a car that was parked where Aaron was parked ... OBVIOUSLY not in a handicap and that spot is painted over with Gray paint.

What Irks Me

Top 10 things that really annoy me:

1) When people don't use their blinkers as they weave in and out of traffic. I can be in the best of moods and then I see someone not use their blinker ... and it makes me want to ram my car into the back of theirs.

2) I hate parents that talk about their children when no one else cares. I know one of these parents for sure ... and I love her, she's great ... and I'm good friends with her daughter ... but I don't effing care!! I have my own life!! I know that it's not as good as your daughters life but shut the hell up!

3) I hate the cable company that we use. It used to be time warner ... but now it's Comcast in Houston. They are deceiving and manipulating ... and it's all because they know that I love their Internet so much that I'm not going to change my service! DAMN THE MAN.

4) I hate children that are rude and obnoxious to their parents. Yesterday, while we were waiting in line ... at Comcast ... a kid came in, hit his sister over the head and the proceeded to scream at his mom to "MOVE YOU ARE IN THE WAY OF THE CARTOONS." Seriously ... I wanted to slap him in the face.

5) I hate parents that don't discipline their children when they need to. There is no way in hell that my children are going to get away with talking to me like that kid did. Or, they might talk to me like that once ... and then forever realize that it's not a good idea to do that.

6) I hate people that have thin and straight hair. It must be so easy to fix!! No wasting an hour blow drying your thick hair and then having to run a straightener through it! Oh no, they just get to get out of the shower ... and immediately have straight hair. Bitches.

7) I hate people that have small boobs and complain about them. SHUT UP. You have no idea what it's like to have REAL boobs that are large. None at all! You don't realize that we don't get to wear the cute shirts or dresses that all of you small chested people do because if we do ... we get the wrong kind of attention! Plus, if you have small boobs ... you don't have to listen to other people that have small boobs wish that their boobs were as big as yours.

8) I hate girls that go out to the club with short skirts on. Seriously???? All that does is make guys think that all girls are like that ... slutty and easy. And what makes it even worse is that the girls with the short skirts are usually the girls that jump on the bar top, or table top, or stage and dance with their ass and vah-jay-jay hanging all out. Gross.

9) I hate going to the store by myself. I need company ... I feel lonely when I go alone. I like to be able to talk with the person that I'm going with so that it passes the time ... because who likes to freaking go shopping for groceries anyway? Not me.

10) And finally, I hate living on the third floor! For one thing ... we don't have a balcony. Plus, once we get groceries it's a freaking workout just to carry everything upstairs. In fact, I've had to stop getting bottled water because I just don't want to have to carry it up three flights of stairs and risk my life! I can't wait to move into another apartment that is lower to the ground ... and closer to school. Ugh.

Reality Bytes

Here's a little confession for you ... I L.O.V.E. reality shows. I like shows like So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol ... but I REALLY enjoy watching all those horrible shows that have a bunch of people in the house and Drama after Drama after Drama. ESPECIALLY with dating shows.

Well, I mean, I haven't really gotten into the bachelor or anything like that but, I just can't stop watching Rock of Love. That show CRACKS me up! Those girls are so catty ... it's like watching a train wreck. I sit there in front of the TV with my mouth open just watching how horrible these girls are to each other. Sometimes ... I want to find out where these girls live and go and kill them because I think that they are so freaking stupid! But I keep watching!

I also love watching Bridezilla. I could sit around and laugh at that show for hours ... those girls get so worked up over NOTHING! They are so crazy for no reason what so ever! And honestly, I doubt that their marriages last very long because even their husband says horrible things about them! This one that I was watching last night ... the guy was helping set up stuff and was like "This is (name)'s face right here" as he was hammering something into the ground. There needs to be some serious re-evaluation in that relationship.

Oh! And My Super Sweet 16. I wish that I could find those kids years later when everything isn't always given to them on a silver platter and see how bad their life sucks. Those kids are so absolutely selfish and can only think about themselves ... and it's all the parents fault! I refuse to raise my children like that!! Apparently, there is a movie out now on DvD about Super Sweet 16 ... but in the commercial the girls are like "Oh, and we'll have everyone bring toys so that we can donate them to other children ... because THAT is what having a party is all about." Except that is NOT what the actual kids that are throwing these parties are thinking. All the do is cry because they don't get a Bentley, or their parents say "no" to their idea about going overseas for a year of HIGH SCHOOl. It always works out in the end to their advantage though ... which just makes it worse, because they think that forever will they be able to cry about something and get their way. Stupid Stupid Stupid kids.

But yeah, I can't stop watching them! It's just great entertainment ... maybe it's because I'm nosy and I like to know what's going on in other people's worlds ... I don't really know. But whatever it is ... Reality TV is the best thing to happen to my nightly shows!!

Rain Rain Go AWAY.

Okay, so for those of you in Texas ... I think I speak for everyone when I say ... EFFING STOP RAINING. JEEZ.

It rains EVERY SINGLE DAY ... seriously. And tonight, I had to drive back home in it ... and that makes me angry. But you know what makes me even MORE angry ... People like that fucker over there in the Hummer splashing water all over the place. Yeah, that one.

Aaron and I have already came to the conclusion that people that drive Trucks & HUGE sports utilities like a hummer are assholes. I know this. Aaron knows this. But it's not like I can pick who I ride next to when I'm driving to save my life at 10pm on a Friday night on a busy highway with water on the road.

My little bitty Honda can only take so much people! Not only did some asshole drive past going 40 (instead of the 25 that everyone else was politely going as the rain torrentially beat down on us) but they also splashed all kinds of water all over my car and I couldn't see a THING!

Then, I ended up (somehow ...) between an 18 wheeler (which after my accident back in February I'm deathly afraid of) and another asshole in some kind of large vehicle that I couldn't tell you about now since all *I* could see was the water that both of them were splashing all over my car. And I know ... some of that wasn't their fault ... but pulling up where they are RIGHT in front of me and then staying there .... yeah, that IS their fault.

Thankfully, I made it home safely ... and it was even only drizzling a bit when I got home so that I didn't have to walk in the horrible rains and all that stuff.

Anyway ... in Wedding news (with nearly 14 more days until THE day) I got some shoes for my rehearsal dinner dress, the makeup (eyeshadow and mascara) for wedding makeup, AND a Harry Potter coloring book. That wasn't for the wedding ... but it made me VERY cheerful!
