Save Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies is an AMAZING show on Wednesday Nights at 7pm central time.

The ABC big heads aren't sure whether or not to cancel it and are waiting to find out how the ratings go after the election. It's been preempted the past two weeks because of Dancing with the Stars and the CMAs. But it's coming back this Wednesday and they are really looking to see if the viewing goes up!

The show is about a pie-maker named Ned who has a gift/curse. He can touch anything that is dead and bring it back to life. However, if he brings it back to life for more than a minute, something else around it dies for good. He works with a P.I. solving murder cases by touching the dead bodies, asking who killed them, and then touching them again before the minute is up. However, things get a little sticky when his childhood love is found dead. He touches her but can't bring himself to touch her again and causes the funeral director to die instead. Thus is the love story of Ned & Chuck! He can never touch her again because if he does she will die permanently.

It's so beautiful and fairy tale-ish and wonderful! Every episode leaves me with a smile afterwards!

SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WATCH WEDNESDAY NIGHT 7pm CENTRAL TIME!

What am I thankful for?

What am I thankful for?

I'm thankful for having a husband that loves everything about me, that thinks like I do, that lets me blabber on about random crap, and ignores my irrationality.

I'm thankful for a family that is amazing. We are all best friends with each other and spending time with "the family" has just become my favorite thing to do.

I'm thankful for friends that love me no matter what. That I can go to for anything, that will tell me when I'm right ... and get on to me if I'm wrong.

I'm thankful for having the life that I have. I'm thankful that Aaron is able to take care of me and provide for me. I'm thankful that we never want for food or clothes or heat or air. I'm thankful that we never have to worry about where our next meal will come from, or whether or not we can afford our bills.

I'm thankful for almost being finished with school, for the opportunity to go to Sam Houston, and for the teachers that I've come into contact with that have shaped my future.

What are you thankful for??

And now for something a little Television oriented.

I read "Watch with Kristin" as much as I can so that I can get the updates on all of my favorite shows ... and today she wrote what she is thankful for and has a poll up for people to put what they are thankful for. Unfortunately, I could only pick one ... so I've decided to most what I'm thankful for here:

Things to be thankful for on Television:

1. Writers: Dear Writers, thank you so much for bringing your A game every day. Thanks for the hilarity and the tears, and I hope that you get everything that you want for Christmas this year. (Plus 4 cents)

2. Saran-Wrap Kisses: Pushing Daisies is a beautiful show! I love it so freaking much! It's so sweet, it's so enjoyable, it's so imaginative, and it's so hilarious. If you aren't watching this Pie Maker and his sweet Corpse Bride ... you should be.
Charlotte "Chuck": You can't just touch someone's life and be done with it.
Ned: Yes, I can. That's how I roll.

3. The Third Slap: "YOU JUST GOT SLAPPPPEDDD" Wow, um ... whoever writes this show is incredible. Seriously. Every episode is awesome, I love the continuity (except when dealing with Marshal and Lilly's apartment ... wtf?), and all of the inside jokes. This is the new Friends, except better ... and I hope that it lasts 10 seasons as well. I don't even care if I find out who the mother is ... keep the laughs coming.
Ted: Your not ... Moby, are you?
Not Moby: Who?
Ted: The recording artist, Moby?
Not Moby: Oh, no.
Ted: Then why when we said "Hey Moby" did you come over here?
Not Moby: Oh, I thought you said "Hey Tony"
Ted: So, your name is Tony?
Not Moby: No.

4. Claire's Blood: Oh man, I am VERY thankful for Claire's blood ... otherwise I'd have to cry my way through the rest of Heroes. This show is amazing ... there is no reason that you aren't watching it. It's action, it's awesome, and it's got a great story line. I want ALL of the powers ... oh jeez, maybe I'm being a little Sylar greedy.
Hiro: Yatta!

5. Every word of The Office: This show is freaking incredible. I love it so much ... I'm so glad that TBS put it on Tuesday nights so that I could get my Jim & Pam fix twice a week. I love that most of the actors are also writers or producers for this show ... it shows that they really love what they do.
Michael Scott: You notice that I don't have any one being Arab here. I thought that would be too explosive, uh, no pun intended. But I just thought, "Too soon" for Arabs, maybe next year, I mean ... the balls in their court.

6. "B" and "S" and XOXO: Gossip Girl is so much fun! I think that it's got just the right amount of drama. Just the right amount of awesome. And just the right amount of YES! I love the inner workings of the "cool kids". I loved the rich kids from the OC but the East Coast rich kids are even MORE scandalous!
Gossip Girl: You know you love me ... XOXO.

7. House for being so Un-House and yet so good:I 'm loving House this season ... even though those three lap-dogs aren't in it as much this season. I'm liking the new crowd ... and am VERY much hoping that 13 gets a permanent job.
Wilson: That smugness of yours is really an attractive quality
House: Thank you, it was either that or high lights .... smugness is easier to maintain.

8. Lost coming back: THANK THE LORD! I can't freaking wait until Lost comes back ... I know that it's going to be amazing ... and I've already converted my whole family into Lost-i-nites. YAY For Sawyer, YAY for Hurley ... but I don't know how I'm going to get over Charlie not being around.
Hurley: Dude, you've got some ... Artz ... on you.

9. Kristen Bell: Besides the fact that she is the voice on Gossip Girl and an awesome new chick on Heroes ... I'm loving this girl! She's so freaking cute! I hope that she'll be around televisions for a long while.

10. That TV's still worth fighting for: Heck yes it is ... life would be crazy boring with out my dear television. I don't want to have to watch stuff on the internet. I like tuning in from 7-9 every night. I can't help it!

Gossip Girl - CW - Wednesday

Cry count: 0

Okay ... so this show was not on my "Fall line-up", but I didn't know any thing about this coming on until about four days ago. I ended up reading the series (or some of it) Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar, it held my attention for a bit, I really like the actress Blake Lively who plays the lead good girl/bad girl(??) Serena Van de Woodsen, and it's written or directed or produced or something by the guy that did the O.C. (which I loved pre Marisa death)

It seems like the premise of the show is like any high school meets rich people show. Private school students ... doing way more stuff than I ever did in high school ... and getting away with everything. Just another one of those "oh poor me ... I'm rich but I still have problems" type affairs. However, it held my attention for the hour long broadcast ... and I plan on coming back for more next Wednesday. ((This means that my Wednesday schedule is going to be even MORE packed))

Serena (Or S as we will refer to her in true Gossip Girl form) is back from boarding school, much to the surprise of her old friends ... and everyone else in the town. S left in a hurry, telling no one where she was going or why (including her best friend Blair) and came back in the same fashion. She was the typical bad girl ... underage drinking, affairs with her friend B's boyfriend, and other dirt that hasn't quite been dug up yet. Surprise Surprise ... she comes back completely different, trying not to get wasted drunk, trying to re-patch the damage that her leaving caused her friends, and even making new (cuter) friends in the process.

One big mistake ... she never told B that she slept with her boyfriend (Nathan, or N).

B is shocked, and not very excited about seeing S come back into their lives ... she had always had a huge suspicion that S & N had a thing for each other and after N denies her sex attempt and spills the beans ... it's a war path.

As for the cute new friends ... there's Jenny & Dan (J & D) who seem to be something like the out casts that get a second chance. J did the invitations for B's party, therefore got invited ... and D just happened to be in the right place at the right time and ended up with a date with the coveted S. (The girl that he has crushed on since probably kindergarten)

There wouldn't be a show by the creator's of the O.C. without a sex scandal ... and besides N cheating on B with S ... N's friend Chuck (C) is the ultimate snake ... and tries to get with J during the Kiss on the Lips Party. Bad move, C.

J & D have a very close relationship for brothers and sisters that are that close in age ... and D comes to her rescue just as soon as his phone dings from the emergency text. Cutting the date short, S & D rush off to the party to save J from the evil C. Finding J & C on the roof, with C ignoring the poor J's protests ... D punches the guy in the face and S, D, & J head off in a cab.

But not before the ominous plot by C & B ... with a saddened N looking on.

I sure hope that they don't end up having two characters with the same first letter ... or this might get even more confusing!!

Like I mentioned, this seems like it's going to be a good show. The cast seems good, the story line is decently solid, and the plot line is just sinful enough to keep my attention.

Check it out if you haven't already ... and if you have ... well, you know what to do.

Kid Nation - CBS - Wednesday

Cry count: 3

There has been a lot of controversy behind CBS's new show "Kid Nation" that I feel was unwarranted. It's pretty obvious that television producers are not going to leave children out in the middle of the Arizona desert without some kind of adult supervision. The children range from ages 8 to 15 ... of course there are going to be some tears, of course some kids are going to get hurt ... kids get hurt every day falling off their bikes or stubbing their toes!

The show plays out like a decent psychology experiment. Can we get forty kids to work together and run a town? And from the way that the first episode seems to pan out ... it looks like it.

Four kids were picked (by producers) to be the town counsel ... however, if other kids think that they are not doing a good job, they are able to vote new town counsel members. Also, the kids are broken up into four teams, that the town counsel picked themselves. And of course ... it wouldn't be a reality show without a cash prize. Each town meeting (which happens every few days) the town counsel has the opportunity to pick one member of the town to get a "gold star." This isn't the paper sticker that "A" students get on their test papers back when I was younger .. this star is worth it's weight in Gold, which just happens to round out to exactly $20,000. The winner of the star gets to use it towards their future (hopefully the parents are smart enough to start a college fund) as well as getting the key to the only place with a phone so that they can call their parents! Also, the kids are able to leave during any of the town meetings, if they feel that they are home sick and they do not want to stay any more. One eight year old boy left tonight, he was such a little sweet heart and claimed "I'm only eight years old, I don't think that I'm ready for this!" Everyone tried to talk him into staying but they were also supportive of his decision to leave.

The "host" hosted the first team activity which ended up putting the kids into different levels. The Upper Class, The Merchants, The Cooks, & The Workers. Each of the groups: red, blue, green, and yellow had to pump their colored water from a geyser into a bucket and then carry the bucket to a group of three bottles and fill them. Sounds easy, but they also had a map that they had to look at, had to move their geyser to their colored pump, and once the pump ran dry had to move it again. The Red team won, followed by blue, then yellow (the youngest group), and finally the green team. They all get paid for each of the jobs that they do now, a dollar for the upper class, fifty cents for the merchants, twenty-five cents for the cooks, and only a nickel for the workers. Immediately, the workers complained that they had worked so hard every day and only got a nickel for it. This definitely gives the children a look on how difficult life can really be.

Most of the kids are very smart and mature ... in fact, the kids that are the most immature are the oldest, a fifteen year old and a fourteen year old. The first night that they were picked for their groups ... they went to the other teams bunks and wrote "blue" all over the signs that claimed their color. Annoying.

Overall, this show looks like it's going to very interesting. I really enjoyed watching it. Each time one of the kids started crying, I started tearing up as well ... but I'm a big sap as it is.

Did any one else watch? What'd you guys think!?

Reality Bytes

Here's a little confession for you ... I L.O.V.E. reality shows. I like shows like So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol ... but I REALLY enjoy watching all those horrible shows that have a bunch of people in the house and Drama after Drama after Drama. ESPECIALLY with dating shows.

Well, I mean, I haven't really gotten into the bachelor or anything like that but, I just can't stop watching Rock of Love. That show CRACKS me up! Those girls are so catty ... it's like watching a train wreck. I sit there in front of the TV with my mouth open just watching how horrible these girls are to each other. Sometimes ... I want to find out where these girls live and go and kill them because I think that they are so freaking stupid! But I keep watching!

I also love watching Bridezilla. I could sit around and laugh at that show for hours ... those girls get so worked up over NOTHING! They are so crazy for no reason what so ever! And honestly, I doubt that their marriages last very long because even their husband says horrible things about them! This one that I was watching last night ... the guy was helping set up stuff and was like "This is (name)'s face right here" as he was hammering something into the ground. There needs to be some serious re-evaluation in that relationship.

Oh! And My Super Sweet 16. I wish that I could find those kids years later when everything isn't always given to them on a silver platter and see how bad their life sucks. Those kids are so absolutely selfish and can only think about themselves ... and it's all the parents fault! I refuse to raise my children like that!! Apparently, there is a movie out now on DvD about Super Sweet 16 ... but in the commercial the girls are like "Oh, and we'll have everyone bring toys so that we can donate them to other children ... because THAT is what having a party is all about." Except that is NOT what the actual kids that are throwing these parties are thinking. All the do is cry because they don't get a Bentley, or their parents say "no" to their idea about going overseas for a year of HIGH SCHOOl. It always works out in the end to their advantage though ... which just makes it worse, because they think that forever will they be able to cry about something and get their way. Stupid Stupid Stupid kids.

But yeah, I can't stop watching them! It's just great entertainment ... maybe it's because I'm nosy and I like to know what's going on in other people's worlds ... I don't really know. But whatever it is ... Reality TV is the best thing to happen to my nightly shows!!
